There is an immediate position available in the I/S Department for a Telecommunications Analyst. This position will provide technical support for telecommunications systems (i.e., voice, voice mail, PBX, peripheral equipment, and local/long distance telephone services). Also provides administrative support for telecommunications service billing and purchasing.

The main responsibilities of this position will be:

• To provide technical support in the “trouble-shooting”, diagnosis, and correction of telephone/voice communications problems.
• Responsible fro moves/adds/change related to telecom hardware and software systems as well as provides detailed tracking of MAC activity.
• Provides local PBX adds/changes/deletions.
• Diagnoses and tests new communications equipment.
• Works with telecommunications vendor technical staff on system installations, system maintenance and problem diagnosis, as needed.
• Monitors telecommunications hardware and software performance.
• Administers corporate telephone calling cards and pagers including issuance and fraud/abuse monitoring.
• Performs telecommunications billing analysis, verification and charge reconciliation.
• Performs telecommunications traffic analyses.
• Performs telecom equipment cost comparisons.
• Assists with annual capital and operating budget preparation.
• Prepares capital authorization requests and purchase orders for telecommunications systems.
• Handles special projects, as assigned, by the Network Services Manager.
  

We are looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong analytical/problem solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications or information systems and a minimum of 3 years experience providing voice communications systems support in a multi-site environment. Experience with Mitel-PBX and Octel voice mail systems is preferred. As well as experience working with local and long distance telecom providers, in both technical and billing aspects. The candidate should have good familiarity with MS-Office PC applications, overall voice communications hardware and software technology, and the ability to successfully interface with end users.
